(Open Rank) Lecturer of Electrical and Computer Engineering

The Ming Hsieh Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the USC Viterbi School of Engineering seeks outstanding faculty candidates for full time, non-tenure track, benefits eligible teaching positions. Candidates should have the experience and knowledge necessary to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in one of the following fields: (i) Computer Engineering - including topics such as VLSI design, embedded systems, cloud and data center architectures, design of application specific architectures and systems such as GPUs, hardware for machine learning, and beyond-CMOS devices such as quantum and superconducting systems; and (ii) Systems Engineering - including topics such as pattern recognition and machine learning, probability and random variables, linear algebra, numerical optimization, and applications in signal and image processing, communications, and control.

Candidates should be strongly committed to teaching and mentoring. In addition to classroom instruction, teaching faculty are expected to be actively involved in innovation and development of curriculum and pedagogical methods of instruction. Other duties include engaging in service to students, the department, and the university. Candidates with interests in teaching of lab classes, supervision of capstone design projects, and industry experience are strongly encouraged to apply. We are seeking candidates who are committed to excellence in teaching and willing to contribute to engagement with and inclusion of students from a wide range of disciplines and backgrounds. Qualified candidates must have a PhD degree (or equivalent) in Electrical and Computer Engineering or a related field by the date of the appointment.  Applications for appointment at the following levels, depending on experience, will be considered: Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, Associate Professor of ECE Practice, and Professor of ECE Practice.

Lecturer: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00

Senior Lecturer: $100,000.00 - $130,0000.00

Associate Professor of Engineering Practice: $120,000.00 - $150,000.00

Professor of Engineering Practice: $140,500.00 - $200,000.00
