To waive an undergraduate course prerequisite (below 400 level), log into myViterbi and select Pre-Requisite Waiver Request from the gold section on the left of the page and submit.

D-Clearance
USC Web Registration
Class numbers ending in “R” (ex: 014-30404R), can be registered after all pre-requisites have been met or waived.
D-Clearance Request and Pre-Requisite Waiver System
Class numbers ending in “D” (ex: 907-30444D) must request Departmental Clearance. The D-clearance process ensures that students have completed the required pre-requisites or passed placement examinations. After obtaining D-clearance, register through USC Web Registration.
Directed Research
myViterbi Directed Research Request
(EE 490, EE 590, EE 690 and EE 790)
Register once a faculty member has given you their approval to work with them for the upcoming semester. Log into myViterbi and select Directed Research Request from the gold section on the left of the page to submit. A confirmation email will be sent once the selected professor approves the request in the system, D-Clearance will be provided.
