The Viterbi Lecture was created as the USC Viterbi School of Engineering’s premier academic distinction in information technology and digital communications, an area of research in which the school is a national leader. Each year, an awardee who has made fundamental contributions of profound impact in communication will present the Viterbi Lecture.

The MHI Pioneer Series honors leaders in our department for the contribution to the field of electrical and computer engineering in general, and to USC EE/CE specifically. The series is held by the Ming Hsieh Institute (MHI), established through a generous endowment gift from alumnus and trustee, Ming Hsieh.

The late Jack Munushian was a long-time USC professor of electrical engineering and the right-hand man of Zohrab Kaprielian, a storied engineering dean and provost at USC. The Munushian Keynote Lecture invites renowned speakers such as Nobel Laureates in the field of Electrophysics.
